April 9, 2014
It has been a while since I have added anymore to my dollhouse projects. I have had a lot going on in my life. My two mini AG dolls that I ordered on a bipolar HIGH; they arrived and are adorable. I purchased the mini Samantha and mini Nellie dolls. I have two mini Samantha dolls and one Nellie. I am going to use the first Samantha as my "Dress Me Up" doll. I ordered three more little outfits from Auntie Robin for the month of May (my birthday) and she is going to fix the back of Samantha's original dress; put tiny snaps so I won't have to deal with the Velcro. I will mail her the dress sometime today.
I will be taking photos of my new little dolls soon to post here. The two little dolls were sealed mint in their boxes; never been touched. Originally; I was going to remove all their dresses and have Auntie Robin fix the Velcro problem on all of them but when I received the two new dolls; they are so perfect (their hair) and details; I didn't want to mess anything up. So; I will have just one "Dress Me Up" doll in this collection; my first mini Samantha (she can play an additional character named Rebekah).
I thought that I would have Auntie Robin duplicate every Samantha fashion that is sold for the 18" Samantha doll. I will take photos of the dresses when they arrive.

My mini AG dolls....
My temptation got the better of me; I just couldn't pass them up. In February 2014; I purchased my first AG mini doll ~ Samantha. And the other day; I purchased two more AG mini dolls off of EBay, again. I bought a two doll combo package; two NEW dolls sealed in their boxes, another Samantha and Nellie. I am so excited; they should be arriving any day now. Since I have two Samantha's; I am going to name the second one, Rebekah. So in their future home; the Beacon Hill mansion, there will be three little girls (Samantha, Rebekah and Nellie). Gosh; there are so many rooms, each girl will have their own bedroom.
I was looking on blogs and YouTube; regarding the construction of the Beacon Hill dollhouse kit and I think I will start the assembly process, right away. One man mentioned that it took him 8 months to construct this house. I have book marked a lot of helpful information with photos on the construction. After doing my hardwood flooring technique on my current dollhouse project (The Orchid Kit); I am going to do the same thing on the mansion. The hard wood floors will take me a while. It took me three months do get that look; the hardwood floors. I cut up strips of card stock; glued each piece down, one by one. Then I did a painting technique to get the look that I wanted for the hardwood floors. Then I put three coats of polyurethane on top of that. I am not sure if I will pre-wallpaper the walls or assemble the whole house and then do my wall paper and painting. In the instructions; it says that one can do it either way. Usually; I pre-wallpaper my walls, but for this particular kit, I am thinking that if I assemble first, it will go together better. I think I will do is go ahead and cut my wall paper to fit (just as I would doing the pre-wallpapering) and then paste it into place after the shell is up. I want this to be really special; something that I will be proud of and pass down to future grandkids. If they are boys... they can pass it down to their kids.
The girls will be living in a house identical to this one! The colors may be a little different but this is the house! CLICK here to see their new future home.

Another Update On My Current Dollhouse Project....
Update On My Current Project;
The Orchid Dollhouse Kit,
My Third Attempt....
I still have some minor tough ups to do; stain/paint and paint the accent pieces to glue onto the Gingerbread Trim and then I will be finished. And I will finish adding to the collage that I started on this dollhouse. Knowing me; I will think of something to make this even better, just give me a few days. :)

The Assembly Process Of The Orchid Dollhouse Kit
I have spent many hours on this dollhouse project; and I am not totally finished with it, yet. I am one that gets burned out; and after a season of being away from it, I feel new energy and I am ready to go at it again. :)
Here are some photos of the early stages and then I will take some more photos of a more completed version of this, when I get further along.

Mini Samantha
I have been wanting a mini AG doll for some time now and I purchased my first one, Samantha in February 2014. I bought her from an adult collector who was selling her mini AG dolls on EBay. I can't wait until I start the assembly process on my "Beacon Hill" dollhouse kit. It resembles the house that this Samantha character lives in. I have really been tempted to purchase her friend, "Nellie" but I will wait. I already purchased a mini version of the "Lawn Party Outfit" for my mini Samantha. One can see photos of her wearing the outfit; if they scroll down through this blog.

Update On My Dollhouse Project
A lot of things have happened in my personal life; between the last time I posted on this blog and now.
The last time that I posted; I had made a mattress, bed skirt and miniature pillows to go in my "The Orchid Dollhouse" kit. I had not even started on the kit at that time. Well; here is an update on what I have done since January 2014. I need to finish a few more shingles on the house; do some touch up paint and glue on accents to the ginger bread trim.
I purchased my first AG mini doll; Samantha from a seller on EBay. Then purchased a custom made mini outfit from AuntieRobin. https://www.etsy.com/shop/auntierobin?ref=l2-shopheader-name I got the idea from Rhonda: http://snickerdoodlestreet.blogspot.com/ I saw photos of the tiny dresses that she had ordered and then messaged Robin to make me the Lawn Party Outfit for my mini Samantha.
